The Information Security and Digital Forensics Department at the Massry School of Business, University at Albany, State University of New York, invites applications for a non-tenure track Visiting Assistant Professor of Information Security and Digital Forensics position, beginning Fall 2026. This is a one-year temporary appointment, with possible extensions up to two additional years, subject to successful review and university approval. The position has a 3/3 teaching load and includes both in-person and online teaching responsibilities in our BS Digital Forensics and MS Digital Forensics and Cybersecurity, and MS in Artificial programs. Courses may may be related to cybersecurity, digital forensics, artificial intelligence, databases, etc.
We seek candidates who are able to teach in organized and clear ways, while providing high-quality student service. While not required, demonstrated effectiveness teaching online (including asynchronous) courses, industry experience, and engagement with emerging technologies will be viewed favorably.
Candidates should also be interested in working within a diverse academic environment, including diversity related to gender, race, ethnicity, religion, nationality, sexual orientation, disability status, and protected veteran status.
We are a small, collegial group of research-active scholars who value collaboration and impact. The Visiting Assistant Professor will be welcomed as a full member of the department and will have access to campus resources that support teaching excellence and professional development.

Primary Responsibilities:
- Teaching courses as assigned by the Department of Information Security and Digital Forensics.
- Service to the Department of Information Security and Digital Forensics.

Job Requirements:
Minimum Qualifications:
- A doctoral degree (e.g., Ph.D.) in Information Security, Information Systems, Computer Science or a closely related field from an AACSB-accredited college or university. ABD candidates will be considered.
Preferred Qualifications:
- Evidence of teaching effectiveness in different modalities (in-person, asynchronous, synchronous).
- Experience in teaching at both the undergraduate and graduate levels.
- Experience in designing and implementing experiential learning activities in the classroom.
- Experience as an information security practitioner and/or possession of information security certifications or credentials.
Working Environment:
- Typical office and classroom environment.
